Creating a Teaching Statement and Portfolio

Participants will assess their own teaching style and be able to communicate important aspects to a search committee via a teaching statement.  During this workshop, participants will learn how to prepare a competitive application package for teaching-oriented careers. Participants will work through several activities to communicate how they conceptualize learning, how they envision their teaching style and how to align claims made about teaching with documentation in a teaching portfolio. NSF Graduate Research Fellowships

The prestigious NSF Graduate Research Fellowship for earlier career scientists is open to undergraduate seniors and first & second year graduate students in STEM fields.  The fellowship offers 3 years of support including $34,000 annual stipend and $12,000 cost-of-education allowance (to the institution). Dissertation Writing Boot Camp

Boot camp is a week-long opportunity for students currently writing dissertations to set writing goals, practice disciplined writing habits, learn new strategies, and connect with other dissertation writers. Each day will include a writing strategy or activity led by a Writing Center staff member and several blocks of uninterrupted writing time. The goal of the DMV pop up is to get folks REAL-ID compliant. We will offer REAL ID compliant DL’s and ID Cards both duplicate ($13.00) or renewal if within 180 days of expiration ($40.00).  https://www.ncdot.gov/dmv/driver/realid/ for full details about what IDs are required to bring with you.
